The 6th worldwide GSM and Java Card™ developer contest

Registrations are now closed for the SIMagine 2005 contest.
A training session will be organized by Axalto for selected contestants on October 27 & 28, 2004 in Paris, France.
Finalists will be featured on Axalto stand A22 at 3GSM World Congress 14-17 February.
Winners will be announced 15 February and publicised on this site.

SIMagine 2005 invites professionals and students to develop wireless applications of the future using (U)SIM cards based on Java™ technology

Eight finalists will be selected by a Jury comprising key players in the telecommunications world. Projects will be assessed for their innovation, marketing appeal, user-friendliness and feasibility.

Schedule

Registration June – 10 October	Contestants submit an outline of their projects by filling the entry form document and send it by email to simagine@axalto.com with the following email subject : SIMagine 2005 - Entry Form.

Selection	Jury evaluate projects and shortlist 50

Development 26 October – 9 January 2005	Axalto will support contestants in developing their projects through a 2 day training session and dedicated extranet
Submission deadline 9 January 2005	Projects to be submitted in form of 8 page document in English, 6 slide presentation and Java code

Shortlisting	Jury selects 8 finalists

Finalists @ 3GSM 2005 14-17 February	8 finalists present their projects at 3GSM World Congress 2005, Cannes, France

Award ceremony 15 February 2005	Awards will be made at 3GSM

14-16 March 2005	Special Cingular award ceremony at CTIA 2005

Prizes

Gold SIMagine Award	20,000 euro
Silver SIMagine Award	15,000 euro
Bronze SIMagine Award	10,000 euro
Operators' Awards	5,000 euro
Additional Special Award (at discretion of Jury)	2,000 euro

Jury

The Jury will include representatives of key players in the world of wireless communications, Java™, industry and standards organizations. Projects will be evaluated for their innovation, marketing appeal, feasibility and user-friendliness.
